Pam Goodwin offers the experience and practice of over 20 years in natural health therapies to help you create a safe and compassionate environment for healing and change. Serving the community, she was the founder and director of Sterling Massage Therapy & Holistic Health Center, Sterling, Virginia for 18 years. She is a certified massage therapist with training from Potomac Massage Training Institute in Washington, DC. Her practice has included many medical partnerships with physicians to offer holistic integrative health services to complement medical care. Studying with medical intuitive, Sue Greer, Pam completed a three-year Healing Apprenticeship, learning indigenous and ancient healing practices. She began her work with cancer as a volunteer with Hospice of Northern Virginia to offer transitional care for the dying. In 2004, she completed The Cancer Residency for Spiritual Caregivers sponsored by the Cancer Society and MedStar Washington Hospital Center, Cancer Institute, Washington, DC, where for the last eight years, she has worked with cancer patients at the Cancer Institute offering complementary energy therapies. Her success with burn injuries resulted in a research study with the Burn Research Team of The Burn Rehabilitation Center, MedStar Washington Hospital Center, Complementary Biofield Energy Therapy for Thermally Injured Patients, to study the effects of energy therapy for the thermally injured.

BIOFIELD ENERGY THERAPY

Biofield Energy Therapy (BFET) is a gentle, calming and natural therapy for the reduction of stress and anxiety, pain, and promotion of body healing. Complementing all standard medical care, the BFET energy therapy, light-touch system assists in balancing the body on all levels of recovery. It is safe for all ages and addresses body imbalances and trauma. Pam works with those who have been clinically diagnosed with chronic pain, addictions, depression and anxiety, trauma/PTSD, migraines, surgical recovery, fractures, burns, thermal injuries and cancer.

Treatments to Enhance Cancer Care

There are many challenges when facing cancer. Pam provides complementary energy therapies, guided imagery, relaxation techniques and a “listening ear” to support patients on their journey of recovery. Upon chemotherapy and radiation treatments, Cancer patients have found BFET very effective in reducing fatigue, pain patterns, stress, depression, nausea, and renewing hope. Patients with foot and hand neuropathies, as a result from chemotherapy, report decreased pain after an energy treatment. Post-surgical treatments of clearing trauma from the human energy field and balancing the chakra energy system are very helpful in promoting recovery and wound healing from major surgery.

Therapy for the Burned and Thermally Injured

The severe stress of a serious accident can cause the body to be in a continuous pattern of the “fight or flight” state, making recovery difficult. By applying BFET many anxiety symptoms begin to dissipate, and the whole body begins to relax into a greater state of balance. The heart rate slows, blood pressure normalizes, endorphins increase, blood and lymph circulation increases, the immune system is strengthened, and a greater sense of well-being occurs, bringing the body into the “relaxation response”. From this place of relaxation, the body is supported to do its own natural healing. Research has proven BFET to reduce stress and anxiety, reduce emotional trauma, reduce pain, reduce itching, promote tissue healing and regain sense of wellness.
