BACKGROUND FOR WASHINGTON D.C. PRACTICEOffering naturopathic consultations and focused referral services. Collaborating with practitioners at the Washington Institute and with outside referring mental health professionals to provide a wide range of natural medicine care. Over 30 years of Health Care ExperienceDr. Wilson has been in the health care field since the 1970s. In Washington DC since 2001 he has worked with integrative medical doctors, dentists, naturopaths, chiropractors and others to help give patients expanded options for improving their health. He has a special focus on supporting Biological Dentistry and on integrating the “energy medicines” of homeopathy, bodywork and Complementary and Alternative Medicine to help people solve their health puzzles whether of body, mind or spirit. He does not focus on disease labels; instead, he helps the patient discover their own strengths and remove obstacles to self-healing. His training as a physician began in M.D. medical school: The University of Michigan Medical School. After completing the first year he chose to go on what became a personal healing journey, discovering ways to integrate western medicine with other approaches to healthy living and health improvement. He credits his biggest health improvement to treating the effects of dental procedures that had damaged his health, and also undergoing Integrative Homeopathy. He has studied with traditional healers and herbalists. He graduated as a general practice primary care naturopathic physician through Bastyr University, Seattle, WA. He has been on the board of directors of the Well Mind Association, Seattle, WA.; they were supporters of Abram Hoffer, M.D., developer of Orthomolecular Psychiatry. He has a deep interest in the integration of Natural Medicine and Mental Health. In the District of Columbia, Dr. Wilson holds a license as a naturopathic physician. Practicing at the Washington Institute of Natural Medicine offers an opportunity to support the integration of effective therapies that have been classified as “complementary and alternative.” "It is more important to know what sort of person has a disease than to know what sort of disease a person has." -- Hippocrates (460-377 B.C.)
