Naturopathic Exam
The Naturopathic Exam lasts between one and two hours depending upon the severity of the complaint. This exam does not use conventional medicine diagnostic techniques. The Washington Institute of Natural Medicine strives to help its participants understand the true meaning of health by offering them a holistic view of health care. The Institute encourages the participant to seek a fitting response to the human condition through natural healing modalities. The Institute strives to investigate the true meaning of health and its deep connection with nature. Through its investigation, it will evaluate the elements of knowledge in the natural health care arena. The Institute will critically study the basic principals of Natural Health Care and seek to improve its components.
Victoria Goldsten, Nat.P., CMT, LPN, BSN
Training Experience:
Victoria K. Goldsten has been caring for the sick since 1973. Her first health care experience was in nursing at several local hospitals and health care facilities. She later studied and became certified in: Homeopathy, Reiki, Acupressure, and Hypnotherapy. She has a BS degree in Nursing and a Doctorate Degree in Naturopathy and Holistic Health. She is currently registered as a Naturopath in the District of Columbia and is licensed in Nursing in both the State of Maryland and Washington, D.C. She has lectured for many local groups on a variety of topics emphasizing natural treatments. She has created her own treatment manual of natural health care which covers therapies for physical and psychological problems. She is currently working as a Naturopath at the Washington Institute of Natural Medicine and the Herb Shop and Holistic Healing Center.

HOURS REQUIRED:
The requirements for the completion of the program in Naturopathy/Holistic Health are a minimum of 1000 hours of hands-on experience.
GENERAL POST GRADUATE EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
General Education Credits or the equivalent experiential learning are requirements for entry into the program. Fulfillment of these requirements demonstrates that the applicant has achieved specialized and general knowledge and has acquired motivation and potential for life-long learning.
To meet the General Education Requirements in order to enter the Program, an applicant must possess ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
MASTERS DEGREE
or
Bachelors Degree, plus two years specialized professional experience,
or
Associate of Arts Degree, plus four years specialized professional experience,
or
Six years of work or life experience,
or
Any combination of the above,
AND
certification in one or more of the following:
Herbology
Homeopathy
Holistic Health Care
Naturopathy
Complementary Care
PLUS
a course in Anatomy and Physiology.
NATUROPATHY/HOLISTIC HEALTH CARE PROGRAM:
The Washington Institute of Natural Medicine offers a broad overview of natural remedies and therapies within its program. This program offers a hands-on component that will augment the classroom experience gained at other institutions.
The 1000 hours of supervised clinical training is completed in approximately 130 weeks. This is based upon the student participating in seven hours and forty-five minutes of clinical per week.
